I am an Applied Scientist at Amazon (AWS) working on large scale machine learning. I am part of an amazing team that built GuardDuty for RDS and with whom I get to work on on a variety of scientific and engineering efforts in anomaly detection and online learning.

Trajectory

Before AWS, I was a post-doctoral researcher at University of California, Berkeley, hosted by Venkat Anantharam. I received my PhD (thesis defense) from The University of Texas at Austin, where I was affiliated with the Simons Center for Network Mathematics and advised by François Baccelli. I was also fortunate to collaborate and learn from Sanjay Shakkottai, Sergey Foss, Haris Vikalo during grad school. I spent my childhood years in Bengaluru with my brother Karthik Abinav Sankararaman before completing an undergraduate degree from IIT Madras.
